Bergamont Station July

There are a lot of very notable shows right now at Bergamont Station in Santa Monica these are some of my favorites-

"Works on Paper" by the late Dennis Hopper @ Robert Berman Gallery

"The Group 2010" @ Lois Lambert Gallery of Functional Art (Christopher Broyles, Catherine Coan, Tanya Clarke, Doron Gazit, David Hrobowski, Joanne Jaffe, Willia Stranger, Ted Swiet, Jan Tuckerman, and Eric Ward)

"Suicide Canaries" Series by Catherine Coan
Tanya Clarke
Tanya Clarke

"Allegedly"-Hugh Brown @ Robert Bernman Gallery

Hugh Brown first cut his teeth as a chainsaw collector and punk rock aficionado; an unlikely pairing that spawned a Grammy award-winning music-packaging design artist and an obsessive appropriation artist compelled to insert chainsaw references into brilliant forgeries of Ed Ruscha, Jackson Pollack, Ed Keinholz, John Baldessari and dozens more contemporary art heavy hitters.

"Eight from CGU" @ Ruth Bachofner Gallery (Chris Trueman, Luis Rendon, Alison Rash, Phillip Griswold, Whitney Hanlon, Kevin Scianni, Alex Moore, and Michael Kindred Knight).

Rebel 8 & Macbeth Launch Party

Headed down to LA to check out Rebel 8 and Macbeth Launch Parties on July 24th.  Mike Giant himself signed autographs and blew it up inside and outside (on top of Shephard Fairey's Obey posters) @ La Barracuda on Melrose.  The party had a great turnout with attendees including Skinhead Rob from the Transplants and Paul Wall. Be sure to check out the Video Link.

Next door at Sporty LA MacBeth held their Fall Launch party that included live painting from Dan Smith from LA Ink and The Dear and Departed.  Attendees included Cacee Cobb and Tom Delonge himself. Be sure to check out the video link.
